Not only does a magnet produce a magnetic field but it also responds to other magnetic fields. The amount of strength a magnetic field can produce is proportional to the magnitude of its magnetic moment.
The magnetic moment outlines the actual magnetic properties. For example, a typical household magnet’s magnetic direction points from the south pole to the north pole of the magnet itself and the magnitude is rated on the distance between both poles.
Therefore the overall strength of the magnet is determined by its magnetic moment.
All magnets and their respective magnetic fields are a potential energy source. The electrons found within the magnet, if forced into moving all in the same direction, will produce magnetic energy. It is interesting to note that if half spin one way and the other half spin in the opposite direction then they will cancel each other out and produce no magnetic effect. That is what is found in most substances. So for the magnet to work and produce energy that one can use, the electrons have to be charged and in the case of the electromagnet, the energy current will continually run through the coil without stopping.
With that in mind anyone can build an electromagnet generator based on the properties laid out above and have a continual source of electrical power with which to power their home appliances.
